It's official! The BDC has hired a new Executive Director! Jessica Pasion, a native of Arizona, has lived in Alamance County since 1994. She was previously the assistant to Elon University President Leo Lambert. Along with that, she has also held two positions at UNC-Chapel Hill, as the executive assistant to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

"The excitement and energy of downtown Burlington is infectious," she said. "I want everyone to everyone to experience that energy, which begins with increased opportunities for folks to live and work in downtown. I envision more delicious eateries, more vibrant nightlife, and more use of our green spaces. Downtown has endless possibilities!"

Please welcome Jessica to the downtown family!

The New Downtown Burlington Brand

On February 9th, 2016 the Burlington Downtown Corporation launched the new downtown brand, with the tagline, “Get In The Mix.” The key message, “Get In” is meant to be a call to action to explore not only what downtown has to offer in terms of shopping, dining and entertainment, but also to explore what each of us can bring to downtown to continue to make it great!

The branding effort encompasses not only a new look for downtown and marketing messages, but a vision for the future and development recommendations for how to get there. The Brand Development Team introduced six “Big Ideas” for community discussion. To see more about these ideas and different ways the brand will be used.
