We invite any members of our MSD district to come to our monthly coffee. It will be the first Tuesday of every month at various locations in downtown. This is a great opportunity to meet other members of the community. The BDC will provide coffee and pastries. See below for the 2017 schedule.

Annual Events

St. Patrick's Day Bash

Join us Friday, March 17 for the 2nd annual Downtown Burlington St. Patrick's Day celebration featuring a parade, food, free entertainment, and a ton of craic (that's the Irish word for fun)! With face painting, balloon twisting, decked out golf carts, and food trucks it's sure to be a good time for everyone in the family.                                           

 

Christmas Parade

Please join us on November 18, 2017 in the streets of downtown Burlington.  The streets will be filled to help start the holiday season off! There will be dancers, horses, antique cars and community organizations that will help fill the air with joy!  Bring your chairs and blankets. 

Active City Streets

You better remember your tennis shoes, cause this event is designed to get you moving! There will be stations set up all over the streets of downtown to keep you active. You can learn to hula hoop, play a life size game of Chutes and Ladders, take a zumba class, let your kids play in the kid zone and even grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks.

 

Holiday Magic: A Dicken's Christmas

The streets are filled with true "Holiday Magic". Be careful you might find yourself smiling as you walk around and watch the joy spreading. The 2017 event will be held in the streets of downtown Burlington on December 8th from 6-9pm. 

Halloween Spooktacular

Burlington Recreation &
Parks in partnership with the Burlington Downtown Corporation presents the 6th annual Burlington Downtown Halloween Spooktacular.  Show off your best costume in the parade and trick or treating!

 

 

Weekly Community Events

 

Yoga in the Yard

Join a community of zen-seekers Saturday mornings at 8am at the Historic Passenger Depot for yoga. A great way to start off your weekend!

 

2nd Sunday Food Truck Rodeos

Join Angie Ball of The Rusted Bucket Tavern on the second Sunday of each month for downtown’s mobile culinary explorations. Featuring live music and other special features throughout the year. The Rusted Bucket Tavern hosts a variety of fun events throughout the year.

 

Game Over Comics: Friday Night Magic

Game Over Comics hosts lots of different events each month including Friday Night Magic and New Comic Book night on Wednesdays.

 

Slot Car Drag Racing

132 E. Davis Street, above The Rusted Bucket Tavern. Come find your new favorite hobby at HNL Slots, a 1/24 scale slot car racing track. They are open on Monday and Friday evenings (for building, testing, and tuning vehicles) and on Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoons for races.


May Memorial Book Clubs

May Memorial Public Library features a wide range of book clubs. From a club hosted by the mayor to one that focuses on social justice, we guarantee that you will find the perfect book club for you.


Burlington Public House Sunday Trivia

This downtown neighborhood pub features a variety of event throughout the year including Sunday Night trivia and Open Jam Nights on Tuesdays.


Blend & Co. Trivia Night

Tuesday is trivia night at The Blend & Co. Show up at 6pm to sign up your team, the fun starts at 6:30pm!
